Unfortunately I have been unable to find any summer toys suitable for a young baby as most are aimed at 9 months+ I did try to contact one company regarding a product I did find but they were unable to help so in this instance I can not recommend it.

Sorry to all who asked but I'm sure you understand I can only review what I have tried as I like to give  real honest opinions.

Saturday 13 April 2013

Bought a baby carrier for my baby boy it says up to 9 months (9kg) and although Ethan (who is just under 7kg) fits into it he looks a extremely squashed and uncomfortable, so think I need to shop around for a different one and try a few out....any recommendations for little chubs?

Don't you just hate it when you buy things only to realize they're no good for you and little one....hopefully I can help others and stop this happening as I know how annoying it can be returning items and waiting around for refunds.

To those who have contacted me requesting my opinion on certain items I will do my best to get back to you soon, I'm hoping to have a very good product that Ethan and I will be testing out and reviewing over the next couple of weeks so keep you eye out...not one you will want to miss!

Teething

So my boy is teething, he's only 18 weeks and it's been a complete nightmare finding the right product for him.

I have tried many products over the past few weeks and below have gave my opinion on each one.

* Calgel Teething Gel - £2.35 for 10g - (3 moths+) This did not help at all, he quietened down for around 10 minutes not very good as although you can give them more after 20 minutes you can only do this 6 times a day.

* Bonjela- £2.49 for 15g - This can be used from 2 months but to me worked the same as the Calgel.

* Anbesol Oil 0- £4.49 for 15 ml - This seemed to be working at first but he would still be grizzly.

* Nelsons Teetha Granules - £4.49 for 24 sachets - These worked alot better than any of the other products I used.

I also bought a Amber Teething necklace which so far does not seem to have any effect, although they were recommended to me as they are meant to be 'brilliant'. Only thing I don't like about the necklace is that they need to be left on which worries me a bit. My sons gets stuck under his chubby chin and I worry it may strangle him. My niece how ever has had one since she was a few months old and 2 years later she still has it on and has never had any problems with teething pain.

I purchased the above set for my little boy from Argos while it was on sale at £299.99

The set includes: cot, under cot drawer, wardrobe, chest of drawers and the changer top which at £299.99 I considered an absolute bargain!

It is currently priced at £699.99 but I have seen this price go up and down several times in the last 6 months so worth keeping an eye on it.

The furniture when made feels very sturdy and is of excellent quality. Although it does take a long time to assemble.

Plenty of storage for the heaps of things babies need.

The changer top is brilliant as it saves bending down to change baby.

The set looks lovely in my baby s nursery, very happy with my purchase.

Daisy Roots Review

I received a lovely pair of Daisy Roots shoes for my little boy.

We have been using these for the last 2 months now and have been very pleased with them. Although they are 0-6 months I did not use them when my little lad first arrived as  - so small and fragile I didn't like the thought of putting shoes on him so stuck to socks.

The elasticated ankle means that unlike most baby shoes & booties these actually stay on, which is always a good thing (no more looking for lost booties)

The shoes feel very soft and comfy, they also come in a huge variety of designs. My boy loves the pictures on his Daisy Root shoes.

The shoes are of high quality and feel very well made.

I would highly recommend them and in fact i love them so much as soon as my boy out grows these i will be purchasing the next size up :)

A little about Daisy Roots Shoes
Daisy Roots are the only UK manufacturer who uses chrome and formaldehyde free luxurious tanned leather and fabrics.  The special soft leather that Daisy Roots use to make their shoes does not involve the use of chromium sulphate which is commonly used as a leather preservative.  Chromium sulphate is a toxic chemical that is associated with cancer of the respiratory tract, skin ulcers and renal failure; which can be absorbed through the skin or through your little one being a shoe munching monster.  You can be reassured with Daisy Roots shoes that there is no risk of this even if your little one is a shoe munching monster like mine due to the fact that all their shoes are chrome free.  They also use safe and non toxic dyes too, meaning even safer shoes for your little ones.  Daisy Roots exceed British standard requirements to pass BS EN71-3:1994- and they are the only UK baby shoe manufacturers to offer this high quality standard.  Additionally you can be assured that they take health and safety seriously as each pair passes through a metal detector to ensure no harmful hazards are in the shoes.

Daisy Roots can be purchased online http://www.daisy-roots.com at a great price of just £18.50 with free UK delivery.
